About us
Agaram, founded in 1959, started out as a laboratory glassware manufacturer. About two decades later, laboratory instruments were added to their product portfolio. Agaram was the dealer for Bausch & Lomb UV-Vis Spectrophotometers and they created a record for the number of double-beam spectrophotometers sold in a single calendar year.
In collaboration with a Japanese company, the manufacture of HPLC was also started. As India witnessed its boom in software exports, Agaram decided to capitalize on the available talent and began its software operations under the banner Agaram Instruments (P) Ltd.. in 1996.
The business was broadly classified into two outfits:
1. The selling of analytical instruments within India and its neighbouring countries under the banner of Agaram Industries and
2. The marketing of software, like laboratory informatics software, instrument-interconnect utilities and manufacturing of software mainly for the export makets under the banner of Agaram Instruments (P) Ltd.
Both these business outfits are headquartered in the city of Chennai, in India. On this first page, we have two broad classifications, namely "Agaram Industries" and "Agaram Instruments (P) Ltd."
