InterFACER
InterFACER is designed to handle clinical diagnostic instrument interfacing. Clinical instrument interfacing has been handled either as a custom developed solution or as a driver based technology for quite some time in the industry. InterFACER is a middleware technology with service oriented architecture and with a database as backend.
Middleware and SOA Architecture
InterFACER is designed as a service oriented architecture(SOA) and as a middleware techology. This approach allows connectivity with instruments on one side without any limitations on scalability. The middlware technology allows easy integration with other databases with ease.
Instrument Connectivity
InterFACER can handle both uni-directional and bi-directional clinical instruments that support ASTM protocols and also custom protocols. The system is easily configurable to handle any new clinical instrumentation. Connectvity wiht instruments can be through RS232 or TCP/IP.
Integration with QuaLIS and other LIS
InterFACER seamlessly integrates with QuaLIS. All orders registered in QuaLIS get transferred to InterFACER and bi-directional instruments receive orders from InterFACER. Results when available from instruments are communicated to QuaLIS in a seamless manner.
